… and, as usual, some favorite quotes:

“You are a rich and creative spiritual being. You can never be less than this. You may frustrate your potential. You may identify with that which is less than what you can be. But within you now and always is the unborn possibility of a limitless experience of inner stability and outer treasure, and yours is the privilege of giving birth to it. And you will, if you can believe.

And here is one of my favorites, I’ve searched and searched and still cannot find who actually said it, but it’s a good one:

"Time flies, but remember:
You are the navigator."

Last month’s newsletter dealt with balance; balancing the light and dark within each of us. There is a strange relationship between light and dark in the world generally and in each of us personally. The drug companies need people to get sick or at least think they are sick or they would lose billions of dollars. Law enforcement agencies and attorneys need criminals or there would be no reason for them to exist and they would lose their jobs. The same thing goes for prisons. Arms manufacturers and dealers need war and strife. If someone came up with a plan and offered the world a chance for genuine peace, they probably wouldn’t live very long. A bounty would be placed on their head because of the billions of dollars many would lose and the jobs that would cease to exist.

That doesn’t mean that we stop trying, but it is wise to understand that this symbiotic relationship does exist in the world and what exists in the world also exists within each of us. It is importation to recognize the relationship between good and bad, light and dark that exists because with recognition comes the ability to change.

This newsletter is about change, about taking control of your thoughts and destiny, about prosperity and abundance, IT IS ABOUT NEW BEGINNINGS ...

Here in the U.S. April brings Tax Season, which brings money worries, feeling broke and in need. With those feelings also comes fear and despair. When fear is present it becomes even more important to realize that what we think and focus on is what we get more of. There are situations that can awaken so much fear within us that we end up creating the worst possible self-fulfilling prophecies. And they can become a reality if that is all you can think about. Now that’s a scary thought.

But what if you could create positive, amazing and wonderful self-fulfilling prophecies.
You can, here’s how:

Whether you call it positive thinking, creative visualization or prayer, throughout history people have been asking "the universe" to help them attain their aims and many have found "the universe" surprisingly obliging. Turns out that it doesn't much matter what you call it as long as you do it. As long as you affirm the belief in and to yourself, as long as that belief is deep and strong, it will have a powerful impact. Whether that impact is good or bad, light or dark, depends entirely on you.

I know it isn’t always easy, more often than not it is so very hard. Life often requires us to do things we don't want to do. Because of this, we can get used to feeling frustration, irritation and dissatisfaction; so used to those feelings, in fact, that they become normal to us. We expect to experience those negative feelings. We start to believe that we will never get the chance to indulge ourselves in doing what we actually want and choose to do. We can get so wrapped up in the mechanics of survival and negative thought patterns that we fail to recognize or respond to the opportunities presented to us each and every day. Your life does not have to be determined by the whims, addictions and negative behavior patterns of those around you or even your own past. You have the power to take control. You have the power to change your thoughts and your life.

The reality of this world we live in is that desire is the life force of energy streaming through us. It is our desires that keep us alive and magnetic. It is our desires that give us that sparkle and glow that makes life special. People without strong desires slowly wither away, living only shadow lives of who they were and who they might have been. You need to nurture your desire. One of the biggest villains to our desire and life force is our own negative self-talk. It is this negative self-talk that destroys our desire and life force by destroying the belief that you can have and deserve what you want and desire most.

The more we allow the life force of desire to flow through us, the more we nurture our desire the more vibrant, alive and connected we become. Feed that desire with your dreams and your visualizations.

Science has given us the capability of being able to look at and in the human brain and to actually see how it is functioning. We are able to watch what happens to the brain as we think different thoughts and visualize different images. Science has taught us that just as we can develop any muscle in our body by “using” it, by working it, so can we develop neuro pathways within the mind. It is along these neuro pathways that all thoughts and emotions travel. Think a negative thought over and over again and you develop a neuro pathway for that negative thought that becomes larger, wider and stronger each and every day, eating up those smaller neuro pathways that you have allowed to atrophy and that are unfortunate enough to reside nearby.

But what if one of those smaller neuro pathways carried the thought, the key to your happiness or the successful outcome to your career? What then?

Knowing and understanding this demonstrates why it is even more important now than ever before to actively and deliberately take control of your thoughts. For every negative thought or image that comes into your mind, take the time to take control and think 100 times more about your hopes, dreams and desires. Take the time to remember each and every good thing that has happened to you throughout the day, but not only that, throughout your life entire life. Think and dream about your future. Take the time and allow your desires to flow through you.

It is all too common for us to take the last few minutes of our day and focus on what we did not accomplish or what went wrong or what we are worrying about. STOP IT!

Allow your desires to flow through and around you. Use anything and everything at your disposal to remind you of your dreams and goals. Cut out pictures, write in a journal, meditate, read something inspirational and use the tool that works easiest and fastest, get help “talking” to your subconscious directly with the aid of hypnosis. A recorded session will always be positive and can never be affected by your mood or passing negativity. That is why they are so powerful. A phone session can be even more powerful. There is something almost magical that can occur during a live session.

The bottom line is this, use all of these tools that are available to you and use them over and over again. You will be amazed just how quickly your life can change. Spring is the time of new growth and rebirth. The world and nature are coming alive again. Why don’t you join them, give yourself the gift of a New Beginning. And for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, autumn is the time of harvest, of reaping what you have sown. Remember it is never too take to take control of your thoughts and live the life you’ve always wanted.

And now, in keeping with my theme of taking control of your thoughts and creating the life you want, I would like to share with you the following article by someone I’ve recently had the great pleasure of meeting, albeit by internet only so far.

The Law of Attraction … What They Forgot to Tell You!
By Dawn Abraham

The law of attraction is simple yet so many people are having a difficult time getting the results they want. The concept of the law of attraction is, “What you think about will happen in your life.” It’s about where you put your focus.

It’s easy enough to say that but try doing it when you are use to allowing your attention to go anywhere the action is. The old saying, “Let the chips fall where they may”, is a good analogy. People let the chips fall where they may and then react to them. If this rings true for you then understanding that it takes energy and commitment to wrap your self around the idea that you actually have a say in where the chips are going to fall is imperative.

With the law of attraction it is essential that you first understand you are a creator. That means you create every experience you have in your life good or bad.

The Magic of Being a Creator

In order to reap the benefits of the law of attraction you want to start with creating what you want to attract. I talk about this a lot with clients and in my law of attraction Master Mind Groups, if you don’t know what you want to create then you won’t get it.

I am continually surprised how many people don’t know what they want. If you don’t know what you want that right there is a major stumbling block. The sooner you clear that up the quicker you can get on with creating your ideal life. I wrote an article Life Purpose how to get one, that can help you with exactly that.

Putting it out into the Universe

Start with writing down on paper what you want. It is important that you see it in writing and declare what it is. For example, if you want to open your own business where you are the boss you would write: Own and operate a small business from my house that generates $250,000.00 a year income. If you want to be a famous singer write that down. What ever it is, start by writing it down.

If you were writing a novel you wouldn’t hope your audience figures out what is going to happen next you would tell them what is going to happen next by typing it on the page.

The next step in the law of attraction is allowing. It’s not enough alone to just write down or say or even visualize what you want. That part is important but alone it will not create what you want in your life.

The Importance of Allowing

Once you know what you want and you have put it out there in the Universe, allowing it to happen is vital. At this point it is important to know that you have started something very powerful in putting out to the world what you want. You have made it clear. Now you want to look and see if you really believe it can happen. It is in the believing that you allow the vibration of what you want to match the vibration of what you are asking for.

Now that you have set this up, pay attention to what happens next. In this phase it is so important that you notice what it happening around you and who is happening around you. How you will know if you are not allowing is when you have put your desire out in the universe and you get no response back. Your probably aren’t allowing the responses in the way of people and opportunities.

If someone really believes they don’t deserve something then when an opportunity is presented they often over look it. The opposite of that is when someone is in tune with their desire then they see opportunities everywhere. I noticed for myself that when I want something and I let other people know they often know someone who has done that or who is looking for someone to work with on that type of project. They have ideas on where I should go or who I should call, etc. Now the key here is to follow up with this.

If you put something out there and it gets feedback and you let that go your stopping the law of attraction right there. You asked for what you wanted, you then attracted it, now grab it. I promise you it will show up, your job is to notice it and then do something about it. When someone says you need to see this movie or read that book or go to that seminar based on what you just said, pay attention. That is the Universe guiding you to what you asked for. If people start showing up in life that seem to be doing what you want to do that is no mistake, talk to those people. There is something there to be learned or gained.

Be Open to Receive in Many Different Ways

When the law of attraction is set in motion it is important to ride the wave and not stop it. You may have had a picture in your mind about what you want and how you were going to get it. If something comes up to lead you in the direction of your desire and it looks different than what you thought, don’t panic. It is your responsibility to investigate that lead. Don’t worry that it doesn’t look exactly like you thought it would, that is the beauty of the law of attraction it sometimes comes in a different package. Be open to going about it in a different way then you originally thought of.

When you can open your mind in this way you will find the doors swinging open in all directions instead of slamming closed behind you. This is an exciting time when you start to get responses back, that is the Universe telling you go….GO! We’ve got your back!

Wishing you all the success in the Universe!

As a being of power, intelligence and love you hold the key to every situation,
and contain within yourself that transforming and regenerative agency
by which you may make yourself what you will

  • B Vitamins and Strokes
Not everything is easily prevented by popping a pill. But strokes? Maybe. Both folate and vitamin B12 seem to reduce the risk of a very common kind of stroke. In a study, men who had the highest folate intake reduced their risk of ischemic stroke by about 30 percent. The study is part of a growing body of research showing that both folate and vitamin B12 lower levels of homocysteine, and that may be the key to their stroke-stopping powers. High blood levels of homocysteine are linked to cardiovascular problems like stroke. Your diet is a good source of folate and B12. But you should also take a multivitamin with folate and vitamin B12 daily, to help make sure you get enough on a regular basis.

  • A Seasoning That Makes You Smile
Feeling a little low, now that the holidays have passed? For a spicy pick-me-up, add a dash of this seasoning to your favorite dishes: saffron. Early research shows that saffron may help turn the tables on a mild case of the doldrums. And if it works for you, it’s sure one heck of a tasty way to get happy. Saffron is a fairly strong spice, so you don’t have to add much to get great flavor. And you can use it instead of salt to kick up the taste of chicken, pork, and veggies. [And it is absolutely crucial to one of my family recipes Paella from the Valencia region of Spain, so delicious!!] Large-scale trial studies need to be conducted before the mood-boosting benefits of saffron can be completely confirmed. But there’s little harm in giving saffron a try, because researchers say there’s no major difference in the side effects you might experience from eating the herb or taking an antidepressant. But the benefits of saffron were only realized in mild to moderate depression, not severe depression. If you’ve been struggling with full-blown depression, get to your doctor -- stat.

  • Never Too Late for a Fresh Start
So you spent your youth smoking, eating doughnuts, or keeping the couch warm. Don't despair. There are four simple steps middle-aged people can take to lower the risk of death in the ensuing years by 40 percent -- even if they haven't been a health superstar to date. Make these modest changes to start undoing all the unhealthy things you did before:
    • Eat more than five servings of fruit and vegetables daily. (Search for fruit- and veggie-friendly recipes.)
    • Walk at least 2.5 hours a week.
    • Shave your BMI (Body Mass Index) to under 30; 24.9 is ideal.
    • Quit smoking.
Try to take all four changes to heart -- it's your best shot at lowering your risk of heart disease. But tackling even one or two items will still have an impact on your longevity.
  • The Easiest Way Ever to Lose 10 Pounds!
It's weird, but few of us remember this seemingly unforgettable food fact: You can lose 10 pounds a year by cutting out 100 calories a day. Maybe it's just too easy?!? Or maybe we just really don't know what 100 calories looks like (unless you’re talking about one of those snack packs). Enter this tip list from The Portion Teller Plan, a raved-about guide to "eating, cheating, and losing weight permanently" that's finally available in paperback. Nutritionist and author Lisa R. Young, PhD, RD, encourages: "Instead of meticulously consulting calorie charts or obsessively checking the USDA Nutrient Database, try these simple, painless, calorie-cutting moves" -- each one eliminates about 100 calories. The punch line: Do one a day, every day, and you'll drop those 10 pounds without doing a single other thing. Or go wild and do two a day! You'll drop 10 pounds in just 6 months without a minute of dieting..

No-Brainer Ways to Cut Out About 100 Calories a Day.
A sampling from Lisa Young, RD.

    • Eat only half a candy bar or energy bar (both pack a lot of calories).
    • Use 1-tablespoon of salad dressing instead of 2 (toss the salad really well and you won't even notice the difference).
    • Choose small 1-ounce pitas instead of the larger 2-ounce size.
    • Spread 1- tablespoon of peanut butter instead of 2 on bread or crackers.
    • Leave the last few bites of pasta on your plate.
    • Use one pat of butter instead of three on a baked potato.
    • Order a tall cappuccino instead of a grande the next time you visit Starbucks.

    More ideas from RealAge

    • Scramble one egg for yourself, not two.
    • Make all your sandwiches open-faced -- omit the top slice of bread.
    • Skip the last three bites of any main course.
    • Snack on one fist-sized bunch of grapes, not two.
    • Grab five Hershey's dark chocolate Kisses instead of ten.
    • Choose a white wine spritzer over a 5-ounce glass of wine.
    • Have a 6-inch Roast Beef sandwich at Subway instead of a 6-inch Classic Steak & Cheese.
    • Order a small cup at Dairy Queen instead of a small cone.

If you have found this newsletter to be helpful to you and you know someone who you feel could benefit from these thoughts and messages please pass it on.
